Lyrics

These children we raise, they put it all in our hands...
We teach them our ways and what they don’t understand.
So, what we believe is what they will know;
And the course that we set, they will most likely follow...

We filter and shade what’s outside pushing in;
But try as we may...the outside’s going to win.

An Unwritten Story changes each time it’s told.
The sun sheds just one light with millions of rays.
The surface is perfect on new fallen snow...
But one footprint made and it’s never the same.

They come to us clean; not a scratch on their souls.
Just innocent minds in a place so unknown.
We have to be sure what we teach them is true;
Since what we pass on reflects what we’ve passed through.

No, we can’t change the past; besides, it’s now that we live.
If we live in the past, how can we truly forgive?

An Unwritten Story changes each time it’s told.
The sun sheds just one light with millions of rays.
The surface is perfect on new fallen snow...
But one footprint made and it’s never the same.
